Making an application for a course with the University of London External System is easy. There are four simple steps:

1 Choose the course you want to study

2 Complete the application form – online or offline

3 Submit the application form

Don’t forget to add your documentary evidence and application fee (if applicable)

Although you can apply throughout the year, each course has its own application deadline - when you should apply

What happens next?

Our specialist Admissions team will acknowledge receipt of your application and will subsequently give you assistance to advise you on your eligibility and processing your application (please see How the application process works for further information).

If your application is approved, we will send you an Offer letter and a registration pack. Even if you do not currently meet the necessary entrance requirements, it is still worth applying – our Admissions team will advise you about what you need to do to become eligible.

Points to consider before you apply

Before you make an application, we do advise that you consider the following points:

Do I satisfy the entrance requirements for my chosen course?
Is my English language ability adequate for my studies?
Is this the best course/method of study for me in order to achieve my final career/personal development goal?
Do I have enough free time to devote to my studies, i.e. at least 20 hours per week, and the motivation to see it through?
Do I have access to adequate study support - e.g. face-to-face tuition, online or correspondence - bookshops, libraries and online facilities (preferably my own PC)?
Have I planned my finances in order to be in a position to pay all the fees as and when they are required?
